Yep--your computer probably has a registry. Now this is a place where all kinds of "Techno" info is kept and used by your OS ( That's Tech Talk for operating system). Now--if you would like to visit your registry--go to START, then RUN, type in REGEDIT and OK---COOL!!, but unless your computer savvy, don't touch anything! The problem with this registry is it needs to be kept clean, because all kinds of stuff can move, or change, and even deleted programs will sometimes leave a file or two behind just to clutter up the place. So--how do you do it? There are several registry cleaners on the market varying in price from free to "Up There", I use Microsoft one care to CK out my registry!
Visit the Windows Onecare Live website, over on the left you see a list of goodies--click on Safety Scanner, once you have done that you will be given several options.
Full Service Scan:
Check for and remove viruses
Get rid of junk on your hard disk
Improve your PC's performance
Protection, Cleanup, and Tune-up are all included in the Full Service scan. However chosing "Cleanup" will CK for Temp. Internet Files, and give the Registry a good look.
