Microsoft Security Essentials

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Once again I will remind you that I am cheap, and if possible to get something FREE--I'm Game. That said, I firmly believe that you can get a good antivirus without shelling out "The Bucks". Avast and AVG are no doubt a good program, however I decided to give Microsoft Security Essentials a shot--Lord knows I have had my share of problems with the pricey leaders--"Snowwhite" kicked some serious Norton/McAfee butt!! Not to say that the Leaders aren't worth the cash ( every program is only as good as your updates)--but I am impressed with MSE!

First off--it is easy to download, you may be asked to download SP-3 (service Pack 3) if it hasn't already been downloaded VIA microsoft updates. I find the navigating extremely easy---they offer Quick scan, full scan, and do it rather quickly. Updates are a breeze---just hit the Update button and away you go--hell-you can even close the window and go about your solitaire. As your surfing the Net--a little window will pop up if you have run into one of those little "Nasties" trying to ruin your day, asking you what you want to do with it--kinda a dumb question, but O-Well. I have been using MSE for a few months and can find nothing that is not "Top Notch" about it--give it a shot--it's free!
